Hammies for a Day
At Hamilton High School, we believe that the best way to discover what secondary school life is really like is to experience it firsthand - and that is exactly what Hammies for a Day is all about.
This exciting initiative gives local primary school pupils the opportunity to spend a day at Hamilton High School and experience life as a ‘Hammies boy’. Throughout the day, students take part in lessons, meet teachers and current pupils, explore our facilities and get a feel for the welcoming and vibrant atmosphere that makes our school community so special.
From engaging classroom activities to trying out new subjects and experiencing the rhythm of a typical school day, Hammies for a Day is designed to build confidence and excitement ahead of the move to secondary education.
Our current pupils play an important role too - acting as ambassadors, guides and friendly faces throughout the visit, helping younger students feel comfortable, included and inspired.
The initiative gives children the chance to ask questions, make connections and imagine themselves as part of the Hamilton High School community. For many, it is their first glimpse into the opportunities, friendships and experiences that await them in the years ahead.
We are proud to welcome future Hammies through this programme and look forward to sharing all that Hamilton High School has to offer - for a day, and hopefully for many years to come.
