Stripe Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition
At Hamilton High School, we encourage our students to think creatively, ask questions and explore the world around them through innovation and discovery. One of the most exciting opportunities available to our students is participation in the Stripe Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition, held each January in Dublin’s RDS.
This prestigious national event gives students the opportunity to develop and showcase original projects across areas including science, technology, engineering, social and behavioural sciences and environmental studies. From the first stages of research and planning through to presenting their ideas at exhibition level, students experience the full journey of innovation and inquiry.
Taking part in the competition allows students to strengthen key skills including problem solving, teamwork, communication, critical thinking and independent learning. It also encourages curiosity and gives students the confidence to explore ideas that matter to them and to present their work to a wider audience.
For many students, attending the exhibition in the RDS is a memorable experience which offers the chance to see inspiring projects from schools across the country, engage with new ideas and experience the excitement of a national showcase of creativity and achievement.
At Hamilton High School, we are proud to support students in embracing opportunities such as the Stripe Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition and to celebrate the ambition, innovation and dedication they bring to their projects each year.
We also compete at Scifest which is Ireland’s largest STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fair programme for second-level students. It aims to encourage a love of science by allowing students to investigate questions of their own choosing and present their findings at local, regional, or national levels.
We have had great success over the years at both competitions with some of the highlights including:-
John Buckley 2023 winner of the ABP Farm Safety award at the Young Scientist competition
Jack Holland ESERO Space award winner 2024
Patrick Barry, Eoin Wilcox and Cathal Murphy winners of the Scifest Communications award 2024
Cathal Murphy and Tom Kingston 3rd place in the biological and ecological category 2026.
